Frequently Asked Questions
What is the first appointment like?
Depending on your preference when you initially make the appointment, you may have a consultation or a new patient intake as the first session. The first session typically lasts from 60 minutes to 90 minutes with the following sessions lasting 45 to 50 minutes.

Consultation vs Intake
Our office offers consultations to provide you with an opportunity to meet your counselor. Finding a provider that's the right fit for you is important, and we hope with a consultation you'll have the chance to ask questions, share a bit of yourself and decide if we fit you and your needs. During a consultation, you'll also be able to discuss any other questions you may have about receiving services, such as scheduling, billing, and insurance.
The intake and assessment process is completed over 1-3 sessions, depending on each client's individual needs. If you choose an initial consultation, the following appointment will begin the intake and assessment process, though some related information may have been gathered during the consultation. During the intake, both administrative and clinical information is collected along with initial assessments to gain a clear understanding of you and how to make the most of the counseling experience.

* Completing new patient paperwork is part of the intake process and can be completed prior to your appointment.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?
We do! For many, telehealth is a great option. If you're looking to see the provider virtually, let us know when you call. Your options for telehealth can be explored in that first session. Our telehealth visits are over a HIPAA-compliant video system provided by our medical records system, TherapyNotes. You'll be able to see all upcoming appointments and access your appointments from our patient portal.
